Cooking with me: Rice (the easy way)

 Cooking Rice

I like to get my rice in bulk since we eat it everyday. We usually get it from Costco. This is the brand I always use, like they say if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

There are so many different techniques, methods, equipment out there to make rice, but making rice isn't that difficult and making GOOD rice isn't either.

This is how I like to make my rice and it's bussin every time

Ingredients and steps

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 cups of rice
  • 3 cups water
  • 1.5 tablespoons of chicken bouillon
  • 1.5 tablespoons of tomato bouillon
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil

Fair warning, I'm not a measurer for my food, so there are all eyeballed when I make rice. The more you make rice, the more you'll see what you actually need

Steps:

  1. Add oil to medium heat pan or pot, your preference. I usually use a pot like this.
  2. Once oil is heated, give or take 2-3 minutes, like I said, I'm an eyeballer, add your rice.
  3. Heat up rice untill it changes from a clear white color to a golden color, be careful to not burn it!
  4. Once most of the rice is golden, add your water and turn up the heat to medium high.
  5. Let the water boil for about 30-60 secs.
  6. Once water boils, add a lid.
  7. After your lid is on, you will turn the heat back down to a low medium.
  8. Let it sit, do NOT stir and definitely do NOT take off the lid.
  9. If you're able to you're going to flip the pot upside down to check if all water has evaporated, about 10 minutes in. For this you'll obviously need a pot that has a clear lid.
  10. Once all water has evaporated, turn off your stove. You can take off the lid and stir to make sure the rice didn't stick to the bottom of the pot/pan.
  11. After stirring you will put the lid back on and let it sit on another burner that is cooled down for another at least 10-15 minutes.

Okay, you were patient enough, now it's time to enjoy!
